Course Overview:

This course is a continuation of Math 152A. Topics covered include factoring, rational expressions, first degree equations and inequalities with absolute value, solving systems of linear equations and inequalities, radicals, rational exponents and their equations, and solving quadratic equations.

Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Factor a polynomial.
2. Apply the four basic operations to rational and radical expressions.
3. Solve equations with rational and radical expressions.
4. Solve a 2 x 2 system of linear equations.
5. Solve quadratic equations.
6. Apply course topics to real world situations.

Suggestions, Tips and Advice:

Exams:

There will be three midterm exams given in the quarter. We will have a comprehensive final examination.

Quizzes:

There is one practice quiz scheduled which will not count towards your final grade.

Homework Assignments:

There will be 10 homework assignments. These are due at the beginning of class on Mondays commencing with week 2. Assignments may be turned in up to one week late for a maximum of half-credit.
