The term "Freshmen 15" is a known statement that claims that on average, college freshmen will gain 15 pounds in their first year at college.  A researcher thinks that the actual average weight gain is different from fifteen pounds.  She observed 35 college freshmen and found that they had an average weight gain of 12 pounds with a standard deviation of 7 pounds.
