SLO Committee Meeting

Members Present:  Kurt Green, Jon Kingsbury, Beachy Orr, Rosie Hackett, Lisa Foley

Staff:  Terry Livesay

Items discussed:

1)      Approval of minutes from June 12 meeting: Approved by consensus

2)  Welcome new member – Lisa Foley: The committee unanimously welcomed Lisa.

3)  Update of SLO Committee progress:

Kurt transposed all the PED courses to PEF, PEH, and PET on the SLO Course Level Program list.  The committee is starting this year up-to-date.

4)  Review of Program Level SLOs:

    This item was tabled to the October 1 meeting

5)  Start evaluation process of new courses submitted:

The committee reviewed the original 21 courses that were submitted for SLOs and MASLOs which resulted all being moved forward with the exception of MAT 154, as this course was returned to the initiator prior to this meeting.

6)  Other items:

a)     Kurt will be attending the “Strengthening Student Success” conference next week in San Jose.

b)     Beachy Orr and Rosie Hackett expressed interest in being on the MASLO Committee this year.  Kurt stated that he would like to see them and anyone else who is interested be on the committee. 

c)     Jon suggested that the MASLO Committee have a plan in place for the Accreditation Committee’s visit in October.  The committee agreed.

d)     The SLO Committee will meet every week on Monday morning from 9:00am to 10:00am for the fall quarter.

e)     Kurt will send out to faculty that they need to consider ‘pre/post tests’ in their MASLOs.

f)     The SLO Committee will be reviewing all ‘Program Level’ SLOs.

g)     Jon suggested that the SLO Committee be informed as to what has taken place during the MASLO Committee meetings .  The committee agreed.
