SLO Committee Meeting

Minutes

Members Present:  Kurt Green, Jon Kingsbury, Larry Green, Rosie Hackett

Members Absent:  Steve Fernald, Beachy Orr

Staff:  Terry Livesay

Items discussed:

1)      Approval of minutes from May 15 meeting (there was no meeting on the 22^nd): Approved by consensus

2)  Start evaluation process of new courses submitted:

The committee reviewed the original six courses that were submitted for SLOs and MASLOs which resulted three being moved forward and three being returned to the initiator.  There were two additions that resulted in both being moved forward. 

3)  Evaluation of resubmitted courses:

There were 14 resubmitted courses which resulted in all being moved forward.

4)  Other items:

a)     Kurt presented the ‘Board Report’ to the Board of Trustees last Tuesday.  The report included the fact that the SLO Committee reviewed approximately 220 courses over the past eight months.  The Board congratulated the committee on a job well done.

b)     Kurt will present an ‘End of the Year Evaluation’ report at the next SLO Committee meeting.

c)     The committee discussed whether or not to have any more meetings during the remainder of the spring quarter and decided this will be the last meeting for the quarter.  Of the three courses that were returned to the initiator, it was decided that Kurt will work with Terry on any corrections that need to be done.  Meetings will resume again in the fall.
