Minutes

Members Present:  Kurt Green, Jon Kingsbury, Steve Fernald, Beachy Orr

Members Absent: Larry Green, Rosie Hackett

Items discussed:

1)      Approval of minutes from April 24 meeting: Approved by consensus.

In reviewing the minutes, Steve mentioned his concern over having Cabrillo’s researcher as the facilitator of our workshops since the committee does not know his/her level of expertise.  He suggested that we look at a number of researchers so we don’t limit ourselves to just one.  The committee wants to look at which colleges have the best assessment process and possibly get their researcher as a facilitator of our workshops.

2)  Start evaluation process of new courses submitted:

The committee reviewed the original 17 courses that were submitted for SLOs and MASLOs which resulted in two being moved forward and 15 being returned to the initiator.   

3)  Evaluation of resubmitted courses:

There were three resubmitted courses which resulted in all three being returned to the initiator.

4)  Other items:

• The committee discussed the status of the courses scheduled for review for this current academic year.  It was agreed that Terry would research past agendas and create a list of the courses that were returned to the initiator for corrections but not yet resubmitted for review.
