Lake Tahoe Community College SLO Committee Meeting Monday, November 20, 2006 - 3:30pm to 4:30pm Room L132 Minutes
Members Present: Jon Kingsbury, Beachy Orr, Steve Fernald, Larry Green Members Absent: Kurt Green, Rosie Hackett Staff: Terry Livesay
Items discussed: 1) Approval of minutes from November 13 meeting: Approved by consensus
2) Continue evaluation process of courses submitted for review on November 6: Further discussion took place regarding the courses that have come up for a 2nd review of SLOs and MASLOs. The committee agreed that the faculty had a better understanding of what needed to be done and did a very good job.
3) Start evaluation process of new courses submitted: The committee reviewed the new courses for SLOs and MASLOs that resulted in two being sent back to the initiator.
4) Further discussion of Terry’s role on the committee: The discussion of putting all of the SLOs and MASLOs on the Web Site and that it would be far too time consuming resulted in putting approximately 10 examples on the Web Site for now with reference to CMS for further information. The committee will then review the time involved in getting the 10 examples prepared for the Web Site and whether or not to put all SLOs and MASLOs on the Web Site.
5) Continued discussion of faculty compensation: Continuation of this discussion did not take place at this meeting. This will take place at a future meeting.
6) Other items: The committee agreed that the January 10 agenda should include SLOs for Program Level Liberal Arts in English, Math, History, Science, and other relevant courses.
