Members Present:  Kurt Green, Jon Kingsbury, Beachy Orr, Rosie Hackett, Lisa Foley

Items discussed:

1)      Approval of minutes from November 5 meeting: Approved by consensus

2)  Review of Program Level SLOs:

    This item was tabled to the November 26 meeting

3)  Standing report from the MASLO Committee:

    This item was tabled to the November 26 meeting

4)  Start evaluation process of new courses submitted:

The committee reviewed the original eight courses that were submitted for SLOs and MASLOs which resulted in seven being moved forward and one being returned to the initiator. 

5)  Other items:

a)     Kurt has asked Rosie to attend an assessment workshop entitled “Retreat on Student Learning and Assessment” scheduled for January 31, 2008 through February 2, 2008 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Irvine, CA.  Rosie will get back to Kurt on her availability for this.

b)     Kurt stated that Lori Gaskin asked him to discuss with the SLO Committee a process for the Curriculum Committee, Administration, and faculty to re-evaluate SLOs and MASLOs for a particular course. The committee discussed having the ability to track ‘re-evaluations’ in CMS.  Kurt will speak to Lori Gaskin about the committee’s concerns.  

c)     Kurt stated that he will post a simpler format for SLOs and MASLOs showing all three phases together for each department.
