SLO Committee Meeting

Members Present:  Kurt Green, Jon Kingsbury, Lisa Foley, Scott Valentine

Items discussed:

1)      Approval of minutes from October 8 meeting: Approved by consensus

2)  Start evaluation process of new courses submitted:

The committee reviewed the original 13 courses that were submitted for SLOs and MASLOs which resulted all being moved forward.  There were also three additions which resulted in all being moved forward.

3)  Evaluation of resubmitted courses:

The committee did not review the two resubmitted courses as Kurt informed the   committee that no changes had been made and that they will be sent back to the initiator.  

4)  Other items:

a)     Kurt informed the committee that he will be attending the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) conference on Thursday and Friday, October 16, and 17, 2008 in Irvine, CA, a retreat on Student Learning and Assessment, Level II.

b)     Kurt again stated that he is looking at combining the two committees (SLO and  Assessment), meeting for a year, then re-evaluating to see what the workload is. 

c)     Lisa Foley stated that she won’t be able to make the next meeting.
