Members Present:  Kurt Green, Jon Kingsbury, Lisa Foley

Members Absent:  Steve Richardson, Scott Valentine

Items discussed:

1)      Approval of minutes from June 18 meeting: Approved by consensus

2)  Start evaluation process of new courses submitted:

The committee reviewed the original 131 courses that were submitted for SLOs and MASLOs which resulted in 97 being moved forward and 34 being sent back to the initiator. 

3)  Other items:

a)     Meeting times for the fall quarter were discussed and the members that were present stated that Wednesdays from 2:00pm to 3:00pm fit their schedules.  Kurt will email Steve Richardson and Scott Valentine to confirm the dates and times with them.

b)     Kurt was impressed with faculty for submitting so many courses for SLOs and MASLOs and will send out an email commending them.

c)     Jon expressed again the importance of the merging of the SLO and Assessment committees beginning next academic year.  He wants to be sure that there is a process in place for SLOs to come back as revisions (i.e., when faculty want to bring courses back for changes to SLOs and/or MASLOs). The merging of the two committees should allow for such changes to occur within a structured format.
