SLO Committee Meeting

Members Present:  Jon Kingsbury, Lisa Foley

Members Absent:  Kurt Green

Absentee Member:  Scott Valentine

Items discussed:

1)      Approval of minutes from January 14 meeting: Approved by consensus.

2)  International Education Department Program SLOs

The International Educational Department Program SLOs were approved by the committee with minor changes.  Kurt will get with Jen Spina regarding the changes.

3)  Start evaluation process of new courses submitted:

The committee reviewed the original 56 courses that were submitted for SLOs and MASLOs which resulted in all being moved forward.

4)  Other items:

a)     Kurt will be sending out an email to the faculty asking them to get back with him regarding any deletions or inactivations that have been done in their departments in the past year.  (Pulling a report from CMS won’t show anything for the current year.)  Kurt stated that as of the Academic Senate meeting last Friday, there are approximately 186 courses left that need SLOs and MASLOs done.

b)     Kurt will be doing a report on the meeting this weekend with the Senate and the Accreditation Commission.  He will be taking a mid-term report to them and then update everyone in an email what happened at the meeting, especially if they write a new Mission Statement.  Kurt stated that we should reach 90% completion by the time the report goes to the Accreditation Commission.
