Checklist for SLO Assessment for Full Time Math Faculty

 

  • Select one SLO from one course you will be teaching.  See

  •  Identify the other instructors who will also be teaching this class

     

  • Meet the instructors (can be done with email) to agree on a rubric; everyone must use the same rubric.

     

  • Identify the assessment tools (exam, quiz, etc) that will be used for assessing the SLO.  Each instructor selects their own tool so they can be different.

     

  • Students take the assessment.

     

  • Each instructor uses the rubric to identify the percentage of students in each level of achieving the SLO.

     

  • Compile the data.

     

  • Meet with the instructors to make a plan for improving instruction based on the data.

     

  • Disseminate via email or paper copies the plan to the entire math department and to the SLO coordinator.
