Present:  Kurt Green, Christina Tomolillo, Larry Green, Beth Laster

 

  • SLO Assessments – should involve less than eight hours per semester of the instructor’s time.

 

What are the implications for Adjunct instructors?

 

 

  • SLO Assessment – will begin with General Education courses

 

  • Purpose of this Committee:  Develop assessment report, recommend assessment strategies, address related issues (such as workload issues)

 

  • Senate – steps for the Assessment process

 

  • MASLO – Methods of Assessing SLOs

 

 

  • Guidelines for LTCC - Look at other colleges – very specific – per class (e.g. what did Cabrillo do for Psych 101?)

 

Course, department, program/degree, college-wide

 

 

  • College-wide/Institutional SLOs:  Strategic planning, new mission statement

 

  • Timeline for SLO Assessement:

 

 

2007-08           Phase I             Designing the process, General Education, one course per

area, SLO Assessment forms

 

2008-09           Phase II            Course level, department level, college-wide, 25%

                                                individual and program level

 

2009-10           Phase III          Writing assessment report

 

2010-11           Phase IV          Next accreditation visit

2008-09           Individual Course and Program Levels:  25% assessed

 

New Program Plans – do assessments at the time
